30. TBD

As you can see I didn't accomplish everything. Not even a lot of it by some people's standards. in April i started helping out at Ketzler's, the Greman restaurant here in Granbury. Some weeks I worked every day so spare time was spent decompressing from both jobs and doing essential tasks such as the dreaded laundry pile that seems to always grow back no matter how fast I defeat it. My main goal became saving for a house so when the opportunity to work at Ketzler's was literally dropped in my lap by Dad I jumped at the chance. I'm learning that life happens, our plans don't always work out, and that's OK! I'm actually "ok" with where I'm at right now. I may not be where I want but I am closer to it than I've ever been. And even though the money I had saved was used at Dosney, and on the Truck and for Christmas that's ok. I saved up just over $3000 in a matter of months and this summer we will be slammed. With the lake being up and being featured on daytrippers as well as an article next month in Texas Highways there's no way we won't be. I know I'll build it back up. I still plan on completing this list. it may not happen this year, or next but eventually it will. I feel that the main point of these is to help you grow as a person anyway, and I can say without a doubt that that was accomplished last year. I can say that even though it didn't go exactly as I wanted it to the last year was pretty awesome! I mean, we went to flipping Disney world and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. And I didn't have to go in to debt when Reba needed new tires and a new AC, I was able to pay for it all. In cash. Which before this last year NEVER would have happened. So here's to turning 30. Here's to buying a new house this year. And here's to Life happening, and THAT'S OK!

Thirty Before 30: Pinterest project - shower bombs (Project 7)

For those of you who don't know, I love bath products. Gels, body scrubs, facial masks, you name it! I also recently discovered lush(hello new addiction and good bye extra cash!lol) Well, in order to hopefully save a little money I decided the other day that I wanted to try and make shower bombs. I found a really simple recipe on Pinterest and I have to say I am extremely happy with the way these turned out. My only complaint is that they do dissolve really quick, but the smell lingers so it's not a total loss. I think I'm going to add a few more drops of the essential oil next time though just to make it even more powerful.

You will need citric acid(found at Wal-Mart), baking soda, an essential oil of your choice, and if you want colored shower bombs food coloring. You will also need a mold of some sort. I used a colic one heart mild as well as a cupcake pan

To make:
  • 2 cups Baking Soda
  • 1/2 cup Citric Acid
  • 20 drops essential oil(or more depending on how strong you want the smell)
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp water
Combine the baking soda and citric acid in one dish, and the water and essential oil in another.

Mix in the water/essential oil blend slowly, a few drops at a time(I used a medicine dropper I got for free from the pharmacy). It needs to be "damp" when you're done mixing everything, not soaking wet.

*tip - if you have an actual mixer use that, I just used a whisk and it took a while.

When it's mixed together put it into the molds and compact it down as much as possible. Allow to set for a few hours to harden up.

I chose cheer up buttercup for my essential oil because it has a strong citrusy smell that I love! But any will work

And yes... I made a mess. Pretty much par for the course with me ;)

Find cute way to store and display them and done!lol

Let me know what you think, and what color and essential oil you use if you try these! :)

Thirty Before 30: Children's Health Holiday Parade 2015

This Past Saturday Mom and I along with probably 400,000 others descended on Dallas for the annual Children's Health Holiday Parade. I have never been to a parade of this caliber before and It did NOT disappoint! The balloons were awesome as well as all of the floats and Marching Bands. It was also AWESOME to see the WHS Blue Belles, the drill team from my High School as one of the first drill teams out of the gate. We loved it and are already talking about going again next year. Check this one off the list! ;)
